A 12FSOLUTION T12ANSFERR[NG/APPROPRIATING AN APP120PRIATION OUT
1ND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club was established in 1953, which goal is to provide
activities to inspire and enable the Big Island youth from all backgrounds of life; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Gir]s Club of the Big Island is facing a shortfall of $334,300
I'or Fiscal Year ?008-2009 due to a reduction in funding from governmental grants and private
sources: and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club provide programs in the areas of Health and Life
Shills, Character and Leadership Development, the Arts, Education (homework assistance and
computer skills), as well as Sports, Recreation and Fitness; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to
the Oftce of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used for operational expenses for the Boys and Girls
Gub of the Big Island's FIilo Club; now, therefore,
BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
