January 22, 1998, transmitting the above bill.
The appropriation with the increase will total
$5,200,000.00.

(Bill 180) GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR
THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING VARIOUS PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS OF
THE COUNTY OF HAWAII; FIXING THE FORM, DENOMINATIONS,
AND CERTAIN OTHER DETAILS OF SUCH BONDS AND PROVIDING
FOR THEIR SALE; AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE
OF A LIKE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND
ANTICIPATION NOTES IN ANTICIPATION OF THE ISSUANCE AND
SALE OF SUCH BONDS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE

1997, transmitting the above bill. States the bond
proceeds from the 1996 general obligation bond issuance

Comm. 636: have pretty much been allotted and that there are still
(Bill 180) a number of major projects which need funding
(Cont'd) consideration.
Comm. 636.01: From Councilmember J. Curtis Tyler, III, dated
January 2, 1998, transmitting a letter from Mr. Hugo
von Platen Luder commenting on the $40 million General
Obligation Bond.
Comm. 636.02: From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated
(Bill 180) January 7, 1998, transmitting an amendment to Bill 180
(Draft 2) to correct a typographical error on page 1, Section 1.
Ordinance No. 97-72 should read Ordinance No. 97-82.
Comm. 636.03: From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated
January 7, 1998, transmitting, as requested, a listing
of prospective projects for the general obligation bond
issue (Bill 180). Also provides an explanation of the
allotment process.
Comm. 636.04: From Leslie Chow, Fiscal/Program Review Auditor,
Legislative Auditor's Office, dated February 5, 1998,
submitting, as requested, background information on
general obligation (G.O.) bonds and, in particular, the
collateral issues associated with the $40 million
G.O. bond proposed by the Administration (Bill 180,
Draft 2).

can be seen on Thursday, February 19 at 8:30 p.m. and Thursday,
February 26 at 8:30 p.m. All the above meetings will be aired on
