Subject: 2% land tax
Please do not betray the public trust and vote to suspend or veto the 2% land tax for open space. It is
like selling your house to pay your Visa bill! As a former resident of a State that has a real estate
transfer tax, we have seen how this tax has preserved land for recreation, low income housing,
protected habitat and aquifer. Do not spend the Public capital in this way as it can never be
