During that time I have seen few positive results from my property tax dollar. Although my children are grown i am particularly distressed concerning Hawaii's dismal standing in their public school performance. On the other hand I was very impressed when about 2/3 of the voters voted to use a small percentage of our taxes for a purpose other than a developer sponsored one. Since moving here I have become a lot more involved in local government (We are both precinct volunteers) and I am amazed that the executive branch is suggesting flying in the face of one of the few voter mandates that have been Comm.
