I agree with every word in thoses letters. I am writing in my own words in hopes that what we have to say will not be dismissed. Allowing Gmo foods and unrestricted bio-tech companies to operate in Hawaii is playing with fire. There is no way to know what risks we would be taking, but it is clear that they would be significant. In the past mistakes were made, such as bringing the mongoose to erradicate mice. Instead of solving that problem, it created new problems. Conpared to the risk involved in playing with genetic material, those problems were manini. I have a degree in Zoology (with high honors) and I am not "religious" either. But it is hard for me to understand how anyone could not see the dangers involved in "playing god" with genetic material. Please think carefu111y before you vote on this issue. The 'aina and its children need you to protect them. aloha, Sherryl C Royce Sherryl Royce 335 Awini Place HOnolulu, HI 96825 Comm. No. 'Z2S. s~ Ref. Toi'„_771oo 1 Ref. Data RPR 0 8 2009
