Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the following nominations to the Hawaii County
Veterans Advisory Committee.
• Hideo T. Segawa of Hilo is being nominated to succeed himself and will be
representing the Big Island National Guard Retirees Association.
Mr. Segawa is retired.
• Keith T. Burley of Kona is being nominated to represent the American
Legion (Kona Post 20). Mr. Burley is the Property Manager of
KBR Management and Realty, Ltd.
Both nominees are being recommended by their respective organizations, and if
approved, will serve terms to end on December 31, 2003.
Should the Council have any questions regarding this submission, you may call

Re: Appointment of Hideo T. Segawa to the Big Island National Guard Retirees
Association and Appointment of Keith T. Burley to represent the American
Legion (Kona Post 20)
Pursuant to Section 1(e) of Rulc 4 of the Rules of Procedure o: the Council of the County
of Hawaii, this written approval is submitted in regards to the attached, waiving said
referral from the Committee on Public Works & Parks in order that appropriate action
can be taken by the Council.
In reviewing the contents of the referral, it is deemed advisable that such waiver be
granted.
