A RESOLUTION REQUIRING THE ADMINISTRATION TO REDRAW THE
BOUNDARY LINES OF THE WEST HAWAII GOLF SUBSIDY PROGRAM TO
ALLOW THE WAIMEA COUNTRY CLUB TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SUBSIDY
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Request for Proposal (RFP) for the West Hawaii
Golf Subsidy Program excludes the Waimea Country Club from participating in the program;
and
WHEREAS, the Waimea Country Club has been a participant golf course in the West
Hawaii Subsidy Program in the past and was well received by West Hawaii residents; and
WHEREAS, upon when the Waimea Country Club barred from participation in the
program, a petition with over 1,100 signatures was collected encouraging the County of
Hawaii to continue the West Hawaii Golf Subsidy Program at the Waimea Country Club;
and
WHEREAS, the $500,000 subsidy that would include the Waimea Country Club
would be a tremendous compliment to the successful subsidy program enjoyed by West
Hawaii residents; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that
the Administration will redraw the boundary lines for the West Hawaii Golf Subsidy
Program as shown in exhibit "A" to include the Waimea Country Club and issue an
addendum to RFP number 2525 upon approval of this resolution.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Honorable Mayor William P. Kenoi and the Director of Finance.
