RESOLUTION NO. 135 ®~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Waiakea Clock, often referred to as the Tsunami Clock, is an
important landmark for Hilo and is featured in guide books, maps and brochures for visitors to
Hawaii Island; and
WHEREAS, the Pacific Tsunami Museum is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization,
which has purchased a new sign for the site that matches the signs that are installed throughout
the East Hawaii Historic Tsunami Sites program; and
WHEREAS, the sign needs to be installed and the Tsunami Clock itself taken down,
repaired and repainted; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated ±o
the Department of Research and Development to fund the refurbishment of the Tsunami Clock
and the installation of a new sign by the Pacific Tsunami Museum; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Research and Development and Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
