<br /> <br /> <br /> ~,Ntr os x~4. <br /> <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> ?T~ G.M'~1 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 142 09 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> will be holding the first ever "Performing and Visual Arts Camp" for 8-14 year old childred of <br /> the Big Island; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this camp, held from June 29, 2009 to July 3, 2009, will feature, at the end <br /> of the workshop, a performance of "Stories from the Jungle Book"; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this workshop was created because extensive research has shown that at- <br /> risk youth involved in music and performing arts do better at school, more likely to progress to <br /> college, and less prone to drug abuse or to gang participation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival will act as fiscal sponsors for the <br /> Performing and Visual Arts Camp; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Research and Development to be used towards the Performing and Visual <br /> Arts Camp to offer scholarships for eight local keiki to participate in this program; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below: <br /> <br /> FUND: General <br /> <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $3,200 <br /> <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC - Contingency Relief $3,200 <br /> <br /> CREDITED TO: <br /> <br /> 010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $3,200 <br /> Tourism Promotion, Misc.
