Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Beatrice L. Lau of Hilo to the Hawaii
County Pension Board to replace Michie M. Kuwaye of Hilo, whose term will
expire on December 31, 1998.
Mrs. Lau is a lifetime resident of Hawaii and is a retired educator from the State
of Hawaii Department of Education. She is a director with the United Way, Chair
of Chinese Bicentennial Commission, and a member of the Chinese Civic
Association. She states that she is not a member of any political party.
If approved, Mrs. Lau will serve a term to end on December 31, 2003. Should
the Council need further information regarding this nomination, you may call me
at your convenience.
