RESOLUTION NO. 154 09
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, our Kupuna deserve fair and equal access to basic support services; and
WHEREAS, the county did design and begin construction of a Senior Center in
Mountain View of which only the first stage, adouble-wide portable room has been realized; and
WHEREAS, this structure stands far from the nearest water, restroom and kitchen
facilities which are located across an open parking lot at the Mountain View Gymnasium; and
WHEREAS, in the recent past the Senior Center in Mountain View has had numerous
incidents of breaking and entering, property damage and vandalism; and
WHEREAS, locking cabinets within the Senior Center will secure personal items when
visiting the kitchen and restroom facilities and water dispensers will facilitate better use of the
the Senior Center building, saving many roundtrips of carrying water; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks & Recreation to purchase locking cabinets and water dispensers for the
Mountain View Senior Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and to the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
