RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF
MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR SIX (6) 75 CUBIC YARD REFUSE TRAILERS
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be
approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County is in need of six (6) 75 cubic yard refuse trailers to replace some of their 1996
Brothers 75 cubic yard trailers that are reaching the end of their useful lives and are incurring costly mechanical
and structural repairs; and
WHEREAS, the trailers to be replaced are worn down due to their daily use to haul refuse from the
transfer stations to either East or West Hawaii landfill; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for six
(6) 75 cubic yard refuse trailers for solid waste operations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the
acquisition of six (ti) 75 cubic yard refuse trailers for solid waste operations and that sufficient funds be budgeted
in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the
Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
