April 22, 2009 w rn ~i Council Chairman J Yoshimoto and Members of the County Council = coo County of Hawai'i Hilo, HI 96720 Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members: It is my pleasure to nominate Jack Ferguson, of Council District 8 to the Hawai'i County Liquor Commission. Mr. Ferguson is a 14-year resident of Hawai'i. From 1961 to 1994, prior to moving to Hawai'i, he held a private law practice in California. He was employed by Radio Shack in Kailua-Kona from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Ferguson presently works part-time for Epic Foundation as a surrogate parent for Special Education children in foster care. Mr. Ferguson is a member of Catholic Charities Hawai'i Island Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Kona Palisades Homeowners Association, Kona Elks Lodge, and the Sons of the American Revolution, Hawai'i Chapter. In 2000, Mr. Ferguson served on the Hawai'i County Reapportionment Commission, and at the end of last year, completed a five-year term as a member of the Hawai'i County Liquor Adjudication Board. Mr. Ferguson states that he is a Republican. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December, 31, 2013. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
