SUBJECT: Appropriation Ordinance for Funding of Programs
Under Title 1 of the Workforce Investment Act
In accordance with the County Clerk's letter dated February 13, 2009,
regarding transmission of documents for Council consideration,

attached is the above-referenced Ordinance. The Office o Housing and
Community Development (OHCD) has requested, and I recommend, that the
attached Ordinance be placed on the Council agenda for 1Reading and
be waived from the Hawaii County Housing Agency.
Timely approval is crucial. To ensure timely expenditures, the
State's Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will require that
these funds be spent by June 30, 2009. It is therefore critical that
approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the May 20, 2009
Council agenda.
