informing he has appointed the following people to the
Hawaii County Committee on Emergency Medical Services,
who will serve co-terminus with his tenure, which will
be December 4, 2000:

committee and are being reappointed. These

Comm. 339: ORDINANCE BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY
(Bill 97) CODE 1983 (1995 EDITION) RELATING TO PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION (RESTRICTING USE OF TAXICAB LICENSE FEES
TO ENFORCEMENT OF TAXICAB REGULATIONS)
From PW&PC Chair Dominic Yagong, transmitting the above
bill. States unused taxicab license fees from prior
periods will be computed and transferred to the Mass
Transit Agency for enforcement purposes via a separate
appropriations bill.

Comm. 344: ORDINANCE BILL APPROPRIATING $375,000 FOR A FEDERAL
(Bill 99) COPS UNIVERSAL HIRING SUPPLEMENT GRANT FOR THE POLICE
(Res. 106) DEPARTMENT; AND A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA FOR THIS GRANT
From Finance Director Harry A. Takahashi, dated
May 27, 1997, transmitting the above bill and
resolution. This grant is to be used strictly for
salaries and fringe benefits for five police officers
for community policing.
Comm. 359: PENSION GRANTED TO TOMEYO TORIOKA BY THE PENSION BOARD
OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII _
From Donald Ikeda, Secretary, Hawaii County Pension
Board, dated June 13, 1997, informing of the granting
of a pension to Mrs. Tomeyo Torioka, Holualoa.
Attaches copy of the Findings and Award of Pension.
