Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 256, regarding Bill 63, reports as follows:
Bill 63, transmitted by Director of Public Works, Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication
No. 256, dated March 31, 2009 amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 2, Section 24-274.1
Schedule 22.1 (Traffic signal systems), paragraph (f), Kona, of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(2005 Editions, as amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered
and to read as follows:
I-Ialeki`i Street, at mid-block crosswalk, two hundred seventy feet east of
Mamao Street."
There was no testimony from the public on this proposed bill and no discussion by your
Committee.
Pursuant to Communication No. 256, this amendment is necessary to update the Hawaii County
Code for a traffic signal system currently under construction.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill 63, and recommends its passage on first reading.
