RESOLUTION NO. 1'75 09
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APYROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, He Ola Hou O Ke Kumu Niu is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Hawaiian cultural
education group which runs Lihikai Hawaiian Cultural Learning Center; and
WHEREAS, the organization is hosting Ho`ea Ea II, the second Hawaii Island Youth
Food Sovereignty Conference from June 10 - 14, 2009 at their center in Keaukaha; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the conference is to activate the people, especially the
youth, to produce food through a combination of hands-on workshops, speakers and service
learning, all centered in the Keaukaha and Hilo communities; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Arts Division to be used towards the
funding of Ho`ea Ea II; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

CREDITED TO:
010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $500

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVTD that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
