Aloha,
My name is Shary Crocker, I have land in Mark Twain Estates in Naalehu area. When I heard
that Dick Creagan is applying for the steering committee I was so excited, and wanted to show
my support for him by writing this letter.
I have know Dick for about 10 years. Exchanging farm produce, growing bamboo ideas, and
helping with medical advice. I have watched him love to learn and continue to go to College in
Hilo. I also saw his commitment to Non-Violent communication by going to a workshop I
sponsored through the non profit group Ka Ohana 0 Honu'apo. He knew that a young woman
that was 13 years old wanted to come, and he knew her and wanted to support her learning by
volunteering to be her partner when it came time to brake up into two, so other people in the
workshop would have to option to work with an adult on an adult level. Both Dick and his wife
Marlyn, have been supportive of the Honu'apo group by volunteering and donations, for the 5
years I was on that board. Dick let my husband come up to his house and looked at his arm to
tell him it was broken, then made a splint for it, and then took a half an hour looking up a good
place for us to go to have it set.
Dick has told us stories of when he was in the Peace Corp, and what a wonderful experience it
was.
I trust Dick, and know that he has a expansive mind and co operative heart to work with others.
Please consider Dick to be on the Steering Committee.
