Dear Council Members:
I am writing in support of the nomination of Geraldine Giffen to the Leeward Planning
Commission. I worked with Ms. Giffen on ntunerous occasions during her previous term on the
Hawaii County Planning Commission.
More recently, I have worked with Ms. Giffen in her capacity as a representative of one
of the beneficiaries of the Parker Ranch Foundation Trust. Ms. Giffen is a tireless worker and a
dedicated representative of the community. She is a creative problem solver. She knows and
understands people. She is patient, open-minded and possesses impeccable integrity.
Without reservation, I recommend that Geraldine Giffen's nomination to the Leeward
Planning Commission be confirmed.
