Hi Susan,
HCC Chapter 16 defines how the first CDP Action Committee Members shall have staggered
terms:
"(b)The members shall serve staggered terms of four years. Upon the initial appointment of the
committee, three members shall serve for a term of two years, three members for a term of three
years, and three members for a term of four years. When the term of a member expires, the
member shall continue to serve until a successor is appointed. Members whose terms expire may
not be reappointed for at least two years, however, members appointed for one year or less may
be reappointed for an additional term without the passage of two years' time. "
Our recommendation is that the (3) four year term seats are served by:
Bob Ward
Fritz Harris-Glade
Bo Kahui
Since the following members sat upon the KCDP Steering Committee, we recommend that
they serve the (3) two year term seats and the (3) three year term seats:
Gretchen Lawson
Ken Melrose
Janice Palma-Glennie
Mike Matsukawa
Marni Herkes
Applicant Jeff Knowles just notified us to say that he may be leaving the county, and therefore
may not be able to make a commitment to the Action Committee, so we will need to open the
opportunity up to the community to fill the seat.

Kenny called to ask if your Kona CDP Action Committee has terms? Do you have that
information for each nominee. If Yes, could you please bring a copy with you.
Likewise, Larry, you mentioned that you do have the terms for the Puna CDP Action
Committee and it did not get included'in the letter to Council. Please bring with you.
Council does not have that information.
