RESOLUTION NO. ~~~ ®~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the federal government is funding the expansion of the West Hawaii
Veteran's Cemetery which will increase the cemetery northward, add a new columbaria area, a
committal service shelter, maintenance building, cremains area, scattering garden, walkways,
roads, and a restroom; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veteran's Cemetery Development and Expansion
Association (WHVC) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to honoring our
veterans by maintaining and improving the facilities of the WHVC; and
WHEREAS, the WHVC is involved with a dry land reforestation project using native
Hawaiian plants in the perimeter areas of the cemetery; and
WHEREAS, WHVC is requesting financial assistance to purchase native Hawaiian
plants; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used towards the WHVC reforestation project to
purchase additional native Hawaiian plants for the cemetery; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Pazks & Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is herby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
