A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, the Fourth of July is a national celebration commemorating the adoption
of the Declaration of Independence in 1776; and
WHEREAS, the Fourth of July Fest in Hilo will include a fireworks exhibition by the
Lehua Jaycees, Hilo Bay BBQ Cook-Off, Paradise Cruisers Car Show, County Band concert,
and Puna canoe races; and
WHEREAS, funds are needed to help defray the costs associated with the Fourth of
July Fest, including the hiring of special duty officers during the festivities in order to provide
a safe and enjoyable environment for the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated
to the Department of Parks and Recreation to be used towards the 2009 Fourth of July Fest;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $1,000
CREDITED TO:
010.500.5517.02 Department of Parks and Recreation $1,000

(2009 Fourth of July Fest)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with
the terms of this resolution.
