COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />183 09 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO <br />A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S). <br />WHEREAS, the Keaukaha One Youth Development was created with the goal of <br />encouraging youth born and raised in the Keaukaha and Pana`ewa Hawaiian Homes areas to <br />participate in ocean-related activities, in particular one-man and six-man canoe paddling; and <br />WHEREAS, the program strives to reconnect the youths with the cultural and <br />recreational heritage of Hawaii and address the growing need for organized after-school <br />recreation activities while stressing the importance of ocean safety; and <br />WHEREAS, the program currently has over 58 youths aged 8 - 13 years participating <br />and the children practice Monday through Thursday afternoons at Kuhio Bay, specifically the <br />area called Radio Bay, where they must rinse off themselves and their equipment with a hose <br />attached to a 100 gallon water tank on the back of a pick-up; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii Fire Department to help fund the installation of a water line to the Radio Bay area; <br />now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />HIND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $500 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />OI0.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $500 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.221.5223.02 Hawaii Fire Department $500 <br />Ocean Safety OCE <br />(Water Line at Radio Bay Area) <br />~, <br />
