Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 201, reports as follows:
Communication No. 201, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated March 12, 2009 requests the
confirmation of Walter "Wally" Engstrom to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review.
Mr. Engstrom is a 32-year resident of the County of Hawaii. He currently is employed at Hawaii
Investment Realty as a Principle Real Estate Broker.
Pursuant to section 19-96, Hawaii County Code, there is created a Tax Board of Review for the County
which shall consist of five members... appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council as provided
by the Charter.
Councilmember Yagong advised Mr. Engstrom that he did not need to appear before the full council for
confirmation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Communication 201
and recommends the appointment of Walter "Wally" Engstrom to the County of Hawaii Tax
Board of Review.
