SUBJECT: Appropriation Ordinance for the 2009 Workforce Investment
Act (WIA) Program
In accordance with the County Clerk's letter dated February 13, 2009,
regarding transmission of documents for Council consideration,
attached is the above-referenced Ordinance. The Office of Housing and
Community Development (OHCD) has requested, and I recommend, that the
attached Ordinance be placed on the Council agenda for I't Reading and
be waived from the Hawaii Countv Housing Agency.
Timely approval is crucial in order to meet contracting deadlines. It
is therefore critical that approval is granted and the matter be
placed onto the June 16, 2009 Council agenda. This will enable the
County to enter into agreements with the provider.
