Dear County Council Members,
Thank you for unanimously passing Resolution 81-09 opposing HB 1226.
I am writing now to ask you all to please do the right thing again by making the properties Make Pao and Kaiholena number
one and two an your priority list for purchase with county Open Space / 2% Funds.
Preserving the historic and pristine North Kohala Coast is a very high priority for our community and for all the members of
the Sustainable Kohala organization to which I belong and serve as a representative of the Steering Committee.
As a long term resident of North Kohala, these lands are very precious to me, to our ohana and community, as places of great
cultural and historical significance and natural beauty. These lands must be preserved and kept open and available to the
community for generations to come.
Mahalo for representing our voice and the voices of the people of North Kohala, and for your kuleana in acting in ways to
protect the aina and the people of Hawaii Island.
With Aloha and Appreciation,
Michelle Levey
