Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Communication 349, reports as follows:
Communication 349, from Mayor Kenoi, dated April 22, 2009 nominates Mr. Jack Ferguson of
Council District 8 to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission.
Council Members Naeole and Ikeda expressed their thanks for Mr. Ferguson's willingness to
serve in this position.
After the vote, Mr. Ferguson was welcomed to his appointment by the Council Members and
advised he need not return for final confirmation at the full Council meeting on June 2, 2009.
Pursuant to Article 7, §7-3.2, there shall be a Liquor Commission appointed by the Mayor with
the approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation is in accordance with the purpose
and intent of Communication 349, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Jack
Ferguson to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission.
