Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 166-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 166-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 335,
dated May 6, 2009, authorizes the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year for the lease of six (6)
refuse trailers for the Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division. These new
refuse trailers will be replacing six 1996 trailers that are reaching the end of their useful lives and are
incurring costly mechanical and structural repairs.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by resolution.
There was no discussion on this matter
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 166-09, and
recommends its adoption.
