Ladies and gentlemen of the Hawai'i County Council,
Aloha and good morning. I strongly urge you to vote "no" today on Resolution 565 and
"no" on Bill 269.
Resolution 565 states a lie in its very first sentence when it says that cultivation and use of
marijuana "has a substantial and detrimental effect on the health and general welfare of the
people of the State of Hawaii." Who wrote this Resolution? The very opposite is true.
Marijuana has been deemed safe and beneficial enough to be legally grown unsupervised
in backyards all over the State and used for the good health and happiness of our people
for the last eight years as medicine!
The truth is that the 'marijuana eradication program' has a substantial and detrimental effect on
the health and general welfare of the people of Hawai L The eradication program is
harassment, nuisance, big brother eye-in-the-sky, a blatant invasion of privacy, detrimental
to our domestic tranquility, its Hawai'i's own version of the Taliban and the Lucifer Effect, all
without so much as a search warrant In my opinion it fits the Constitutional definition of
TREASON, the levying of a war on our own people under the pretense of protecting us
from our own folly and then making us pay for it, too.
There are now public threats that if you don't let our own police harass and rob us that
Federal outsiders will do the job for them. Is anyone still believing that this tyranny is sound
public policy or a 'just' war?
The 'marijuana eradication program' is a witch-hunt, a prejudice and a prohibition whose time
has long-gone-by! Please end it today sending a dear message to the Feds, and let's
begin a new era of peace on this beautiful, but ever-more-isolated island. Mahalo.
Sincerely,
Roger Christie, Founder
