Ordinance No. 8
Laborers on the roads and other
laborers. employed at a daily wage
shall be exempt from the require-
ments of Ordinance No. 6 and No. 7
but in ]i~u thereof, proof of such ser-
vice rendered to the County shall be
made in the following manner:
If such services are rendered as
road work, he shall sign the pay-roll
after the same has been filled in writ-
ing by the officer in charge of the
work showing the number of days
worked, rate per day and the total
amount due to the person perform-
ing the work.
*SUCh pay-roll shall be made up to
the twenty-fifth day of each month
inclusive, and shall include the days
worked in the previous month later
than the twenty-fifth not reported.
Such Labor Pay-Roll shall then
be sworn to by the person in charge
of the work, showing that the ser-
vice had been rendered at the rate of
wages stated in the Pay-Roll and that
in each case the Pay-Roll was filled
out as provided by this Ordinance.

iThe legal fee (Twenty-five Cents)
paid for such affidavit may be itemiz-
ed separately and added to the sal-
ary claim of the officer or person in
charge of the work for the same
month, but if not so claimed it shall
be afterward barred. When so com-
pleted the officer or person in charge
of the work shall forward the Pay-
Roll to the County Clerk who shall
filethe same in this office for fur-
ther action by the Soard of Super-
visors. Proof of service by laborers
other than upon road work shall be
made upon blank forms for charges
against genera] fund, but shall be
sworn to and filed in the same man-
ner as provided for labor upon roads,
certified and sworn to by the per-
son in charge of the work.
Nothing Sn this Ordinance is in-
tended to relate to prison labor.

at a meeting of the Board of Sup-
ervisors of the County of Hawaii,
held at the County beat upon the
7th day of Sept., A. D. 1905, and
upon being put to vote said Ordinance
was adopted by a majority of the Sup-
ervisors at said meeting.
