Ordinance No. 26
RELATING TO HACK STANDS IN
THE TOWN OF HILO, AND RE-
GULATING THE USE AND 000U-
PATION THEREOF.
Section 1. The following stands are
hereby set apart for licensed car-
riages in the Town of Hilo:
Stand No. 1. Makai side of Pit-
man Street, mauka of Court House
Square, facing south.
6tand No. 2. South side oY Waia-
nuenue Street, along Court House
Square, facing mauka.
Stand No. 3. South side of Waia-
nuenue Street from the mauka side of
Front Street and extending to the old
Kinau Wharf; two hacks from the
said stand to be allowed to hold posi-
tion at all times on the south side of
Waianuenue Street in front of the
Volcano Stables, and after S p. m. two
hacks also from said stand to be al-
lowed on the north side of Waianue-
nue Street and opposite said Vql-
cano Stables.
Stand No. 4-South side of Ship-
man Street, opposite Fish Market,
facing makai.
Stand No. 5. North side of King
Street, beginning at corner of Front
Street, facing makai.
Stand No. 6. Vacant lot mauka
Front Street, opposite Mooheau Park,
South of Nippon Alley, facing North.
Stand No. 7. Waiakea Road, op-
posite Hayashi Hotel, facing North.
Section 2. On all stands set apart
for licensed carriages, horses must be
headed parallel with the street and
close to the sidewalk.
Section 3. Stands shall be kept in
order and clear of filth by the owners
and drivers of the vehicles to whom
they may be assigned.
Section 4. Each and every licensed
driver in the Town of Hilo gall file
in the office of the Sheriff of the
County of Hawaii, the Hack stand
taken by him which Hack stand num-
ber shall be entered by the Sheriff on
the Driver's license, and no driver
shall change his Hack stand except
by and with the approval of the Sher-
iff of the County of Hawaii, or the
Deputy Sheriff of South Hila.
Section 5. If any licensed vehicle
ehall be found standing in any place
but on its appointed stand for other
than a temporary errand the driver
shall be liable to arrest by any po-
lice officer, unless said driver shall
Ue under engagement.
Section 6. Any person who shall
violate any of the terms of this Ordi-
nance shall be fined not more than
Twenty-Five Dollars.
Section 7. This Ordinance shall
take aftect from and after the date of
its adoption.

I hereby certify that the foregoing
Ordinance was regularly considered
at a meeting of the Board of 8up-
crvisors of the County of Hawaii,
held at the County Seat upon the
3rd day of April, A. D. 1908, and
upon being put to vote said Ordinance
was adopted by a ma]ority of the Sup-
ervisors at said meeting.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have
hereunto set my hand and affixed the
seal of the County of Hawaii upon this
3rd day of April, A. D. 1908.
