Be it ordained by the Board of Sup- ervisors of the County of Hawaii: Section 1. Every licensed driver shall have a silver or white metal badge, with the word "Driver" and his licence number and the words "County of Hawaii" plainly shown on it. This badge must be worn while emplo7ed so as to be plainly seen upon the left breast. Drivers of freight or baggage vehicles may wear their badges upon their hats. These badges will be furn- ished at the Treasurer's Office a~t cost price. Section 2. Every licensed carriage or vehicle shall be numbered with the number of the license issued. The Treasurer shall have prepared labels on tin meta], duly painted and letter- ed, showing; if passenger licenses, the number of the license, number of passengers licensed to carry, the year and the district where located; and if freight or baggage license, the number„year, district and the letters \\~ F. & B. .The size of the tin label shall '\~~~eRC~ed 3x6 inches, and shall be made in duplicate and affixed on each side of the driver's seat so that it can be plainly seen. A fee of flue cents shall be collected and returned as a County realization for each tin label sold. Section 3. Every licensed carriage or vehicle for carrying passengers, running at night, must exhibit two lights, one on each side near the driv- er's seat, with the number of such ve- hicle plainly shown on the glass of each light in opaque black figures not less than one and one-half (1~/z) inch- es in height. Section 4. Drivers of licensed ve- hicles must obey the orders of the po- lice. Section 5. No horse attached to a licensed vehicle is to be left without a Proper attendant, or properly se- cured. Section 6. No licensed driver shall leave his vehicle at any public or private ball or entertainment, pub- ic assemblage, place of amusement or liquor saloon. Section 7. No licensed vehicle is to be left on the street or highway over- night. Section 8. Anv licensed vehicle, or any horse or harness, found in use with a licensed vehicle at any time in an unsuitable or unsafe condition for performing the duties of common car- riers. will render the o~.vner ar driver, or both, liable to arrest and prosecu- tion . Section 9. Any person who shall violate or fail to observe any of the requirements of this ordinance shall be fined not more than twenty-five dollars for each such violation, and the license of any such licensed vehi- c;e or driver may, in the discretion of the Court, be cancelled.
