Ordinance No. 47
AN ORDINANCE TO PROTECT PUB-
LIC GROUNDS.
Be it ordained by the County of
Hawaii:
1. That it shall be the duty of the
sheriff of the County of Hawaii to
protect lawns, gardens, grass plots
and other cultivated grounds belong-
ing to the Territory of Hawaii or the
County of Hawaii within the said
County, and of all such lawns, gar-
dens, grass plots and other cultivat-
ed grounds of a public nature within
said County, and to place or cause to
be placed on such places, signs and
notices warning persons to keep off
such places.
2. Any person who shall trespass
or walk on or over any such lawns,
garden, grass plot or other cultivated
ground, on which there shall be any
such sign or notice shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction
shall be fined in a sum not less than
Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50)
and not more than Twenty-flue Dol-
lars ($25.00), in the discretion of the
District Magistrate or other Judge
having jurisdiction of the cause.
3. This ordinance shall take effect
from its passage.

at a meeting of the Board of Sup-
ervisors of the County oY Hawali,
held at the County Seat upon the
8th day of November, A. D. 1912, and
upon being put to vote said Ordinance
was adopted by a majority of the Sup-
ervisors at said meeting.

hereunto set my hand and affixed the
seal of the County of Hawaii upon this
8th day of November, A. D. 1912.
