AN ORDINACE TO .AMEND SECTION 7 AND SUBDIVISION 1 OF SECTION
16 OF ORDINANCE NO . 43 RELATING TO TEE
REGISTRATION, IDENTIFICATION, USE AND
OPERATION OF MOTOR CARS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIL
TERRITORY OF HAWAI I:
SECTION L. That Section 7 of Ordinance No . 43 relating to the
RegiEtration, Identification, use and Operation of Motor Cars, be and
the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"Section rl . EXAMINER OF CHAUFFEURS.- The Sheriff shall from
time to time appoint one of the employees of the Sheriff' s Department,
who shall be a competent motor car operator and have a fair knowledge of
steam, electric and gasolene motor cars, and who shall be known as the
EXAMINER OF CHAUFFEURS, to examine into the qualification and fitness of
any person who may desire to secure a Chauffeur' s Certificate, to operatG-
a motor car."
SECTION 2. That sub-division 3 of Section 16 be ' and the same is
hereby amended. so as to read as follows:
"The Examiner of Chauffeurs shall collect a fee of Three ( 3.00)
Dollars for each examination made and shall pay the same to the County
Treasurer as a County Realization ."
SECTION 3. All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed .

Section 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the date of its approval .

I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was regularly consi-
dered at a meeting of the Board of Supevisors of the County of Hawaii ,
held at the County Seat upon the day of A.D.1914, and upon being
put to vote said Ordinance was adopted by a majority of the Supervisors
at said meeting .
