ORDINANCE
No. 95
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR
THE IDENTIFICATION AND USE
OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE
PUBLIC SERVICE OF THE COUN-
TY OF HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUN-
TY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. All motor vehicles,
the property of the County of Hawaii,
shall bear on either aide thereof the
following inscription:
"FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLV"
A¢d following and underneath said
inscription shall be the words "COUN-
TY OF HAWAII" on all such vehicles
owned and controlled by the County
of Hawaii.
SF,CTION 2. The letters oP such
words as are in this Ordinance con-
templated shall be painted on all such
vehicles in characters oY plain, bold
size, not leas than three (3) inches in
height and proportionate width.
SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful
for any person to use, drive, propel
or operate any County owned motor
vehicle in the County of Hawaii, ex-
cept in the actual eervice and during
legal working hours of the County;
provided, however, this Ordinance
shall not apply in case of public emer-
gency and necessity whenever the
business oP the County requires use
and operation of motor vehicles Yor a
longer period, and to automobiles and
fire-fighting apparatus oP the Fire De-
partment of the said County.
SECTION 4. Any person violating
any of the provisions of this Ordin-
ance shall be punished by a fine of
not less than $5.00 and not more than
$500.00.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall
take effect thirty days from and after
the date of its approval.
