AN ORDINANCE CREATING A
CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
FOR THE CITY OF HILO,
COUNTY OF HAWAII.
BE 1T ORDAINED BY TIIE
BOARD OF' SUPERVISORS OF
-THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. A City Plmming
Commission for the City oP Ililo, in
the County of Hawaii, is hereby
r rested and established.

SECTION 2. Or®anization. hn-

the Roard of Supervisors, the Com-
mission may employ any person.

SECTION 4. The purpose of the
nstablishmeuc of this Commission
is to provide for and regulate the
future growth, development and
beautification of the City oY Hilo,
in its public and private buildings,
sheets, parks, grounds and vacant
lots, to perform such other duties
as the Roard of Supervisors may
presm~ibe and to recommend the
establishment of building zonee. All
powers exercised by the Commis-
=.iou shall ba used to further these
pm~poaes and Um•poses hrciden tat
thereto.
SECTION 5. The County Clerk
shall, upon introduction thm•eof,
ftu~nish to the City Planning Com-
mission fm• its consideration, copies
of all Ordinances and bills which
relate [o any of ffie matters within
the juriedfctimi oY the Commissimt.
SECTION 8. The City Ylanning
Commissimt shall make, m' cause
to be made, and, cause to be pub-
lished, a roap or maps of the Ciky
of Hilo or any pm•tlon or portions
thereof, showing the streets and
highway-s and any natural m~ arti-
ficial features; and also new sites
or locations propoeed by it for
public buildings, elute centers,
streets, parkways, boulevards,
parks. Pleygrotnrds-, m' any other
public ground or Public improve-
ment; or any widening, extension
or relocation of streets, or any
change in the City plan, by it
deemed advisable; and it may
mako recommendations to the
Board of Supmvism~s, from time
to time concerning any such mat-
ters for action by the Roard of

said Commission shall have regard

SECTION 7. The City Planning
Commission may make recommen-
dations from time to time to priv-
ate corporations, firms and indivi-
duals with reference to the loca-
tion, architecture and use of any
buildings, structures or works own-
ed or cmttrolied bS any of them or
in the cmn•se of erection, or pro-
posed to be erected by any of
them.

ground, school or other public
building site; and w[th reference
to [he location of the harbor and
use of property oY the city adja-

quirements of existing laws.
SECTION 9. Owners and pur-
ohasere of property within the City
of Hilo shall be deemed to have
tmtice oY the published plans, maps
and reports of [he Commission af-
fecting such property, provided
suds plm~s, maps and reports are
on file with the County Clerk of
the County of Hawaii and are pro-
perly Sndexed.
9ECT)ON 10. This Ordinance
shall take effect from and after
the date of its approval.
