COUNTY OF HAWAII TERRITORY OF HAWAII Ordinance No. 114 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR REGULATING THE SHOW- ING OF MOVING PICTURES AND LEGITIMATE STAGE PLAY PRO- DUCTIONS ON SUNDAY IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: 6ection 1. Moving Pictnre Shows and Leg't"ana.te Stage Play Produc- Mons. App2ieation and Permit. Mov- ing Pictures may be exhibited on Sundavs after the hour of 12:30 P. M. and Legitimate Stage Play Pro- ductions after 6:30 P. M. subject to the provisions of this ordinance. Any person-which term shall in- clude partnerships. corporations, and associations- having first Paid the reauisite pcense foe prescribed un- der Sect'on 2505 of the Revised Laws of Hawaii, 1935, or any other law which may hereafter be enacted. and desiring to exhibit to the rnab- lic in the County of Hawaii on Sun- day. after the hours hereinafter set forth, moving pictures or legitimate stage play productbns, shall make applcation for a permit to the Treasurer of the County of Hawaii as hereinafter provided. "Said application shall be in writ- ing and shall set forth the name and address of the applicant for a permit, the occupat'on or business of the applicant, the location and character of the building in which he proposes to exh'~b't such moving pictures or legitimate stage play productions, and the day or days and hrntr set for their exhibition. The said application shall be accom- panied by an affidavit sworn to by the applicant, which affidavit shall state the names and characters of the pictures or productions proposed to be exhibited, that afflant has personally seen the said proposed pictures or productions and that they are in no sense vulgar, obscene, indecent; suggestive or improper. "Upon the filing of said applica- tion and affidavit as required by this ordinance, it shall be the duty of the Treasurer of the County of Hawaii, to issue a permit to the ap- plicant for the exhibition of the said pictures Or legitimate Stage play productions for the Sundays or Sunday designated in said aPPlica- tion, and the names of the pictures or productions to be exhibited shall be set forth in said permit and the day or days and the hour at which they are to be shown shall likewise be set forth. eeetion 2.
