AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
A TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMIS-
SION OF THE COUNTY OF HA-
WAII, PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT THEREOF,
AND PRESCRIBING ITS POW-
ERS AND DUTIES,

County of Hawaii:
Section 1. There is hereby esta-
bl:ahcd a TrulYic Safety Commis-
sim~ [o serve without compensa-
[ion, consisting of o¢e repcesent-
ative each 17dm the police de-
partiuent, county engineer's of-
fice, and the comity attorney's of-
lice, and snch mm~ber of other
cnnnty officers and representa-
tives of unofficial bodies xs may
be determined and appointed by
the Chairman of the Board of
Supervisors. The chairman of
the Commissioq us well as the
members thereof shall be appoint-
ed by the Chairman oP Che Iioard
of Supen~isors, subject to the ap-
proval of a majority of the P,oard
of Supervisors; the chairmtm and
members of the commission like-
wise may be removed by the
Chairnum of the Iioard of Super-
visors, subject to the approval of
a majority of the Iioard of Super-
visors.
Section 2. It shall he the duty of
the Traffic Connuission, and to
this end it shall have the authori_
fy within the limits oP the funds
nt its disposnl, to roordinate traf-
fic activities. to carry an educa-
tional activities in tratYic matters,
to supervise the. preparation and
1mhlic:rCon of ri•afTic reports, to
receive complaints Laving to do
with traffic matters, and to re-
commend to the legishitive body
of this Bounty and co¢¢ty offi-
cials, ways nod means for improv-
ing traffic conditions emd the ad-
ministration and enforcement of
tniRic regulations.
S°ctinn 3. This ordinance shall
take effect from and Bitter the
