Ordinance No. 134
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS,
COUNTY OF H A W A Z I AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Creation of bureau.
There is hereby created for and
within the Hawaii County Depart-
ment of Public Works a~ addi-
tional bureau to be designated the
"bureau of public property." Tha
bureau of public property shall be
under a bureau head to be known
as Head of the bureau of public
property, such bureau head to ne
appointed by the chairman with
the approval of the board of su-
pervisors, all in accordance with
the provisions of Act 13 S. L.
1943.
Section 2. Powers, duties and
functions of the bureau of public
property. The bureau hereby cre-
ated shall have charge of and be
responsible for all inventories ~f
public property (real and person-
a]) belonging to the County of
Hawaii or set aside for the use of
the county by executive order cf
the Governor. It shall be the duty
of the head of the bureau to take
charge of such bureau and of
such inventories of public prop-
erty required by the provisions of
Act 13 S. L. 1943 to be accounted
for and filed from time to time
with the board of supervisors by
and through the Chief Engineer.
It shall also be the duty of the
head of the bureau to have charge
of all inventories of county prop-
erty required by statute to be
accounted for and filed with prop-
er authority and the bureau head
is hereby charged with the re-
sponsibility and duty of making
periodic checks and inspections of
such properties in order to as-
certai-i the correctness of inven-
tory reports filed by department
heads and other employees of the
county as required by statute and
to render reports covering his ac-
tivities to the Chief Engineer and
to the board of supervisors during
the month of Javvary of each
year and at such other times as
may be required by the board.
Section 3. Effective date. This
ordinance ahall take effect July
1st, 1944.

Board of Supervisors of the Coun-
ty of Hawaii held at the County
Seat upon the 22nd day of June,
A. D. 1944, and upon being put
to vote said Ordinance was adopt-
ed by a majority of the Super-
visors at said meeting.
