the extension of the mauka side of
Hualani Street;
5. Aline approximately 100 Peet
Puna from the nearest edge of the

Industrial Zone III shall contain
all of the area bounded by:
1. The Keaukaha side of the ex-
tension of Kanoelehua Street and
the Keaukaha side of Kanoelehua
Street from the makai boundary
of the Hawaiian Homes Commission
land (Panaewa Tract ll to the Kau-
mana side of the Hawaii Consoli-
dated Railway railroad right-of-
way;
2. The Kaumana side of the Ha-
waii Consolidated Rahway railroad
right-of-way from the Keaukaha
side of Kanoelehua Street to the
Hawaiian Homes Commission land
(Panaewa Tract ll;
3. The Hawaiian Homes Com-
mission land (Panaewa Tract 1)
from the Kaumana side of the Ha-
waii Consolidated Railway railroad
right-of-way to the Keaukaha side
of the extension of Kanoelehua
Street.
Excepting from the above all
]ands under the control of the Gen-
eral Lyman Field.
SECTION 7A. Industrial 7.one IV.
Industrial Zone IV shall contain
all of the area bounded by:
1. Business Zone I and the mau-
ka side of Kamehameha Avenue
from the Keaukaha side of Emma
Street to the Puueo bank of the
Wailoa River;
2. The Puueo and makai bank
of the Wailoa River from the mau-
ka side of Kamehameha Avenue to
the Keaukaha side of Emma Street;
3. The Keaukaha side of Emma
Street from the makai bank of the
Wailoa River to Business Zone I.
SECTION 8. Noxious Industrial
Zone 1.
Noxious Industrial Zone I shall
contain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Keaukaha boundary of
General Industrial Zone I from a
point on the Keaukaha side of Silva
Street approximately 500 feet mau-
ka of the mauka side of Kalania-
naole Street to the Keaukaha-mau-
ka corner of Pier 1 shed;
2. A line from the Keaukaha-
mauka corner of Pier 1 shed to the
seashore;
3. The seashore from the Keau-
kaha end of line described in (2) to
the boundary of the U. S. Reserva-
tions at seashore;
4. The Waiakea boundary of the
U. S. Reservations and an extension
of said boundary from the seashore
to the mauka side of Kalanianaole
Street;
5. The mauka side of Kalania-
naole Street from the extension of
the Waiakea boundary of the U. S.
Reservations to the Waiakea bound-
ary of the Hawaiian Aomes Com-
mission land (Keaukaha Tract);
6. The Waiakea boundary of the
Hawaiian Homes Commission land
(Keaukaha Tract) from the mauka
side of Kalanianaole Street to an
extension of the makai side of a
proposed street;
7. Aline from the Waiakea end
of the extension of a proposed
street to the Keaukaha side of Silva
Street.
SECTION SA. Noxious Industrial
Zone 2.
Noxious Industrial Zone 2 shall
contain all of the area presently
occupied by the Hilo Gas Company,
Ltd., and a strip of land between
the Puueo boundary of the Hilo
Gas Company, Ltd., property and
the Keaukaha boundary of the Ha-
waii Consolidated Railway railroad
right-of-way.
SECTION 9. Hotel and Apart-
ment Zone I.
Hotel and Apartment Zone I
shall contain al] of the area bound-
ed by;
1. Aline 125 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kinoole Street and
parallel to Kinoole Street from the
Olaa side of Waianuenue Street to
the Puueo side of Kukuau Street;
2. The Puueo side and mauka
side of Kukuau Street from a point
125 feet mauka of the mauka side
of Kinoole Street to a point 125 feet
mauka of the mauka side of Ka-
piolani Street;
3. Aline 126 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kapiolani Street and
parallel to Kapiolani Street from
the Puueo side of Kukuau Street
to the Olaa side of Haili Street;
4. The Olaa side of Haili Street
from a point ]25 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kapiolani Street to
the makai side of Kapiolani Street;
5. The makai side of Kapiolani
Street from the Olaa side of Haili
Street to the Olaa side of Waianue-
nue Street;
6. The Olaa side of Waianuenue
Street from the makai side of Ka-

shall contain all of the area bound-

1. The Hamakua bank of the
W eiluku River from the seashore
to a point approximately 950 feet
mauka of the mauka side of Wai-
naku Street;
2. A line from the Hamakua
bank of the Wailuku River to a
point on the Olaa side of Amauulu
Street, said point being approxi-
mately 800 feet mauka of the mau-
ka side of Wainaku Street;
3. Aline from the Olaa side of
Amauulu Street to an extension of
the Olaa boundary of Puueo Park;
4. The Olaa boundary of Puueo
Park from the line described in (3)
to the makai side of Wainaku
Street;
5. The Waipilopilo Stream from
the makai side of Wainaku Street
to the makai side of Puueo Street;
6. The makai side of Puueo
Street from the Waipilopilo Stream
to the Olaa side of Kanoa Street;
7. The Olaa side of Kanoa Street
and its extension, from the makai
side of Puueo Street to the seashore;
8. The seashore from the exten-
sion of the Olaa Side of Kanoa
Street to the Hamakua bank of the
Wailuku River.

shall contain all of the area bound-
ed by:

Street from a point 125 feet makai

posed Mamane Street;
2. The mauka side of proposed

of Kainehe Street to the Keaukaha
side of Kainehe Street;
3. The Keaukaha side of Kaine-

proposed Mamane Street to the ma-
kai side of Aalapuna Street;

ment Zone IV.
Hotel and Apartment Zone IV
shall contain all of the azea bound-
ed by:
1. The Puna side of Kamokuna
Street and its extensions from a
point 250 feet mauka of the mauka
side of Kalanianaole Street to the
seashore;
2. The seashore from the Puna
side of the extension of Kamokuna
Street to the makai side of Kalania-
naole Street;
3. Aline running mauka at right
angle to Kalanianaole Street for a
distance of approximately 300 feet;
4. Aline 250 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kalanianaole Street
from the line described in (3) to the
Puna side of the extension of Ka-
mokuna Street.
SECTION 13. Residential Zone
A-I.
Residential Zone A-I shall con-
tain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Kaumana bank of the
Wailuku River from the makai side
of the extension of Peepee Falls
Drive to the mauka side of the ex-
tension of Waiau Street;
2. The mauka side of the exten-
sion of Waizu Street and the mauka
side of Waiau Street from the Kau-
mana bank of the Wailuku River to
a point approximately 400 feet Kau-
mana of the Kaumana side of Wai-
anuenue Street;
3. Aline running mauka for ap-
proximately 1200 feet from the
mauka side of Wafau Street to the
Kaumana side of new Waianuenue
Street;
4. The Kaumana side of new
Waianuenue Street from the mauka
end of the line described in (3) to
the intersection of the Kaumana
side of new Waianuenue Street and
old Waianuenue Street;
5. The Kaumana side of old
Waianuenue Street from the inter-
section mentioned in (4) to the 1n-
tersection of the Kaumana side of
new Waianuenue Street and old
Waianuenue Street;
6. The Kaumana side of new
Waianuenue Street from the inter-
section mentioned in (5) to the ma-
kai side of the extension of Peepee
Falls Drive;
i. The makai side of the exten-
sions of proposed Peepee Falls
Drive and the makai side of pro-
posed Peepee Falls Drive from the
Kaumana side of new Waianuenue
Street to the Kaumana bank of the
Wailuku River.
SECTION 19. Residential Zone
A-II.
Residential Zone A-II shall con-
tain all of the area comprising the
section commonly known as "Reeds
Island" which is bounded by the
Wailuku River on the Hamakua
side and Waikapu River on the
Olaa side.
SECTION 15. Residential Zone
A-III.
Residential Zone A-III shall con-
tain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Hotel and Apartment
Zone II on the Olaa side;
2. A line from the Hamakua-
mauka corner of Hotel and Apart-
ment Zone II to a point in the cen-
ter of Pukihae Stream, said point
being approximately 300 feet mau-
ka of the mauka side of Wainaku
Street;
3. The center of Pukihae Stream
from the point described in (2) to
the seashore;
4. The seashore from the center
of Pukihae Stream to Hotel and
Apartment Zone II.
SECTION 16. Residential Zone
A-IV.
Residential Zone A-IV shall con-
tain all of the area comprising the
section commonly known as "Ha-
laulani Place" which is bounded by
Wainaku Street on the mauka side;
Pohakunanaka Stream on the Ha-
makua side; the seashore on the
makai side; and Pukihae Stream
on the Olaa side.
SECTION 17. Residential Zone
A-V.
Residential Zone A-V shall con-
tain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Kaumana side of Kinoole
Street from the Puueo side of Mo-
houli Street to the makai side of
Puainako Street;
2. The makai side of Puainako
Street from the Kaumana side of
Kinoole Street to the Kaumana
boundary of Lot 12, Waiakea Cane
Lease Lots;
3. The Kaumana boundary of
Waiakea Cane Lease Lots 12, 13,
14, and 15 from the makai side of
Puainako Street to the Olaa side
of the extension of Lanikaula
Street;
4. The Olaa side of the exten-
sion of Lanikaula Street mauka for
approximately 150 feet;
5. Aline from the Olaa side of
the extension of Lanikaula Street
to a point on the Puueo side of the
extension of Mohouli Street;
6. The Puueo side of the exten-
sion of Mohoull Street and the
Puueo side of Mohouli Street from
the line described in (5) to the
Kaumana side of Kinoole Street.
SECTION 18. Residential Zone
A-V[,
Residential Zone A-VI shall con-
tain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Keaukaha Beach Park
and its mauka extension on the
Waiakea side from the mauka side
of Kalanianaole Street to the sea-
shore;
2. The seashore and Lihikai Park
(Onekahakaha Beach) on the ma-
kai side;
3. The Puna side of Kamokuna
Street and its extensions to a point
250 feet mauka of the mauka side
of Kalanianaole Street;
4. Aline 250 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kalanianaole Street
and parallel to Kalanianaole Street
from the point described in (3) to
the Puna boundary of Hawaiian
Homes Commission land (Keauka-
ha Tract);
5. The Puna boundary of Ha-
waiian Homes Commission land
(Keaukaha Tract) makai for ap-
proximately 250 feet to the Puna-
makai corner of Hawaiian Homes
Commission land (Keaukaha Tract)
on the mauka side of Kalanianaole
Street;
6. The mauka side of Kalania-
naole Street from the Puna-makai
corner of Hawaiian Homes Com-
mission land (Keaukaha Tract) to
the Keaukaha Beach Park mauka
extension.
SECTION 19. Residential Zone
A-VII,
Residential Zone A-VII shall con-
tain all of the area comprising the
section known as "Lehia Park Resi-
dence Lots" at Keaukaha, and ex-
tending from the former Seaside
Club to Puumaile Hospital.

B-I.
Residential Zone B-I shall con-
tain all of the area bounded by:
1. The Kaumana side of Kinoole
Street from the Puueo side of Mo-
houli Street to the makai side of
Puainako Street;
2. The makai side of Puainako
Street mauka for a distance of 242
feet;
3. Aline 242 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kinoole Street and
parallel to Kinoole Street from the
makai side of Puainako Street to
the makai side of Haihai Street;
4. The makai side of Haihai
Street and its extension from a
point 242 feet mauka of the mauka
side of Kinoole Street to the Puna
side of Kilauea Street;
5. The Puna side of Kilauea
Street from the extension of Hai-
hai Street to the Olaa end of the
Waiakea Homestead Houselots;

proximately 950 feet;

Alenaio Stream;

SECTION 23. Residential Zone D.
Residential Zone D shall contain

posed Wailoa Street to the Puueo
side of Hualalai Street;
2. The Puueo side of Hualalai
Street from the makai side of Ki-
noole Street to a point 125 feet
mauka of the mauka .side of Kilauea
Street;
3. Aline 125 feet mauka of the
mauka side of Kilauea Street and
parallel to Kilauea Street from the
Puueo side of Hualalai Street to the
Olaa side of proposed Wailoa Street;
4. The Olaa side of proposed
Wailoa Street from a point 125 feet
mauka of the mauka side of Kila-
uea Street to the makai side of Ki-
noole Street.
SECTION 24. Agricultural Zone
One.
Agricultural Zone One shall con-
tain all of the area approximately
1200 feet from and on the Puna side
of Kilauea Street being approxi-
mately L000 feet in width and run-
ning from the extension of the Olaa
side of Kahaopea Street to a line
aF>Proximately 1000 feet Olaa of the
makai side of Palai Street.
SECTION 25. Agricultural Zone
Two.
Agricultural Zone Two shall con-
tain all those portions of the city
of Hilo, which are not set aside for
other use districts.
SECTION 26. Set-Back Lines.
Set-back lines for planting pur-
pose and to limit the extent to
which buildings may be construct-
ed is hereby created in the follow-
ing zones:
1. There shall be a set-back line
of 50 feet along the boundaries of
Industrial Zone I, mauka of Kame-
hameha Avenue, to limit the extent
to which buildings may be con-
structed, excepting the Keaukaha
boundaries of same;
2. Honolulu Iron Works (Hilo
Branch) and adjacent area on the
Puueo side. There shall be a set-
back line of 10 feet or more along
the makai bank of the Wailoa River
for planting purpose, from the mau-
ka side of Kamehameha Avenue to
the Keaukaha side of Emma Street;
3. Light Industrial Zone I. There
shall be a set-back line of 10 feet
or more along the makai bank of
the Wailoa River for planting pur-
pose from the Keaukaha side of
Emma Street to the Kaumana side
of Keelikolani Street;
4. Industrial Zone II. There shall
be a set-back line of 50 feet along
the boundaries of Industrial Zone II
to limit the extent to which build-
ings may be constructed.
SECTION 2T. The foregoing zones
are set forth on the Zone Map, pre-
pared by and kept in custody of the
Planing and Traffic Commission for
the City of Hilo and County of Ha-
waii, and the same shall be deemed
the "official Zone Map."
SECTION 2g. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect
upon its approval.
