8eotion 1. Power and authority shall be and is hereby given,
created and vested in and to the Chairman of the Board oP Supervisors oP Am• ' i
the County,o2' Hawaii, when countersigned by the Clerk and over the heal ~`
of th® County of Hawaii duly affixed, to summon or to subpoena persons
to appear before the Board of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, upon
the request in variting of and by parties interested in said matter then
pending before the Board of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, Terri-
tory of Hawaii, to the County Clerx, or to the Chairman of the Board of
Supervisors of the L'ounty of Hawaii, statinp5 that said persons are.
necesuary and needed for the full understanding and legal determination
of such said matters before the said Board of Supervisors.
Section 2. The person or persons so summoned shall receive and
be paid, out of and from the General Fund of the County of Hawaii, upon
claims duly certified as by crdinance provided and regulated, the rate
of lU cents a mile, Going, and coming, and ~p1.00 a day during actual
attendance before the Board of Supervisors, County of iiawaii.
Section 3. Vuhosoever shall fail to appear and attend and
otherwise violate any section of this Ordinance shall be fined in a sum
not exceeding X100.00 at the discretion of the District 1'.lagistrate.
