DEFIiV"ITIOIV: `Phe following terms as used herein sha]1 be deemed to mean: a. T~iXIC_;B SEkVIC~'. RATrS uF F.~uZE: It shall be unlawful for the operator of a taxicab to chr.r6e for taxicab service at a rate in excess of that hereinafter set forth for the tyre of taxicab service rendered; I. (a) from any taxi stand or from any point to a pother point, for the first mile or fracticr. thereof, the fare shall not exceed fifty cents (50~). The rates of fares and charges for taxicabs operating from a fixed. stand outside the city limits of Hi 1o shall be as follows: (a) For the first mile or fraction thereof, not more than fifty cents (50c~ ) . (bl For each additional mile or fraction thereof, not exceeding 15 miles, thirty-five cents (35~) pe:r mile. (c) The price for any trip from within the city limits of Hilo to a point outside the city limits, or from any point outside of the city limits to another point outside the city limits, when. it exceeds 15 miles, or from s point outside of the city limits to any point within tine city limits, when t exceeds 15 miles, may be fixed by agreement 'between the taxi driver and the passerr~er, but in no event shall said price exceed fifty cents (50~) for the first mile arui forty-five cents (45~) for each additional `~- mile thereafter, together with a charge for waiting, which. charge shall not exceed •;2.00 per hour or fraction thereof. (d) Sightseeing tours .~hali not be affected by this Ordinance. Section 3. DISPLAY 01' x~:Tr'y:5. A taxicab, when not engaged in business or persona"- use,, s'ha11 be stationed or housed at its garage or stand. Section 5. YENAL'I'I:1:. Any person violating sny of th.e provisions of this Ordinance, sha].l,upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months, or. by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 6. REPEAL. All other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with. this Ordinance ere hereby repelled.
