ORDINANCE N0. 31
~fN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR A MACHINE SHOF FOR THE REPAIR OF MOTOR
VEHICLES IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE BY THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
BE IT -0RDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE CUUNTY.OF HAIVAII:
Section 1. Creation of Department. There•is hereby created
and established a department for the County of Hawaii to be known
as the "COUNTY MACHINE SHOP." Thia department shell be in charge of
a competent mechanic es~Superintettdent thereof, who shall have the
power and supervision over said department and oP ell functions.
Section 2. Functions. The, ~epartmenG above created shall:
(a} Have charge of the upkeep, and repairing of all automobiles,
trucks, wagons, steam roller s',tir~® fighting apparatus, and all other
machinery, implements and toold~ belonging to the County of Hawaii

except such stationary machinery as mey be repaired by the department
having control thereof
(b) Furnish all parts in the repair of machinery, automobiles,
trucks, wagons, steam rollers and fire fi~yktting apparatus.
(e) By proper method keep a check upon the use of all
automobiles, trucks, wegons,'steam rollers and ell other machinery,
implements and tools belonging to the CJo~unty of Hawaii.
Section 3. Repairs. All repairs upon any 'automobile, wagon,
truck, steam roller or machinery. belonging to the County of Hawaii
must be made,et the County Machine Shop. except as herein provided

or except repairs made.in an emergency; provided, howe~vier, that the
Board of Supervisors may by resolution order trie"repairs made
elsewhere.
Section 4. Hooks. ,.fit shall be the duty of the Superintendent
of the "COUt1TY MACHINE ~HOP^ to keep such system of books es shall be
