ORDINANCE N0. 55
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO 70 REVISED
ORDINANCES OF THE COUN°1~7C OF HAWAII 1947 RELATING Tb THE CONSTRUCTION
AND MAINTENANCE OF SIDEWALKS IN TAE CIT~t OF HILO, COUNTY OF HAWAII,
TERRITORY OF HAWAII
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
Section 1. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 10, Revised Ordinances
of the County of Hawaii 1947, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section ~. Care of sidewalks. All owners of lands
abutting on and etd~oining any public streets after
curbing has been laid, shall, at their own expense, keep
their sidewalks olban and free of all weeds, noxious
growths or other vegetable matter; provided, however,
should the owners have grass grown thereon they shall
keep same out a® came shall not be a nuisance or
inconveniena~e to the public passing thereon.
"Any person, firm or corporation who shall be
convicted of violating any of the provisions of this
Section shall be fined not more than One Hundred Dollars."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval.
