''~~' Section 1. nSectiQ~~ 9 of Ordinance 104 is hereby amended `~~ •
to read as fol~.ows :' ,

"Section 9. Traffic-signs, signals and markings. '
The Board of~Supervisors shall by resolution:
(a) determine and designate the character or
type of all official traffic control devices, signs,
signals and markings;
(b) date, define, re-define, or eliminate all
safety zones, loading zones, quiet zones, traffic
lanes and crosswalks;
~(c) Subject to paragraph (a) of this section,
the Department of Public Works is hereby authorized,
and as to those devices, signs, signals and markings
required for the purpose of traffic control, it shall •
be its duty to place and maintain or cause to be
placed and maintained all official traffic control
devices, signs, signals and markings. All devices, '
signs, signals 'and markings required for the purpose
of traffic control shall so far as practicable be
uniform as to ;type and location throughout the county." ,

Section 2. Section 12 of Ordinance 104 is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 12. Display oP.unauthorized traffic
control devices, signs, signals and markings prohibited.
Tt shall ire unlawful for any person to place or maintain
or to disp~ay upon or in view of any street any un-
official t affic control device, sign, signal or
marking which purports to be or is an Imitation of
or resembles an official traffic control device, sign,
signal or marking, or which attempts to direct the
movement of traffic or which hides from view or
interferes with the effectiveness of any official '
traffic control device, sign,' signal or marking. -.
Every such prohibited traffic control device, s~rn,
signal or marking is hereby declared to be a public
