AN ORDINANCE AIMENDING ORDINANCE NO$ 5 9 OF TSE REVISED ORDINANCES
OF COUNTY OF HAWAII 1947, PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMNT
AND REGULATION OF COMMN CARRIERS OF PASSENGERS IN THE CITY OF

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR COUNTY
OF RMAII

Ordinances of the County of Hawaii 1947., i.s hereby amended to
read as follows,
Section 20,: Trans p2rtation Control Co3. tt,ee-o There
is hereby established a transportation. control committee for the
County of Hawaii; const sting 'of five members,' three of whom shall
constitute a quorum and the concurrence of three members shall,
be necessary to take action. The members shall be. appointed by
the chairman and executive officer of the Board of Supervisors
of the County ..,of Hawaii, with the approval of the Board of
Supervisors of said County, to serve for terms of three years
or until their' successors are appointed and qualifiedor provided,
however, that of the first' menibers 'appointed under the provisions
of this Ordinance , one shall be appointed for a term expiring
,:anuary l.' 1949, two for a term expiring .#Tanuary 1,, 1951, and
two for a term expiring January 1.1' 1952 No wore than two persons
having directly or indirectly any interest in, or deriving any
renumeration from the transportation , automobile, tire, or
inswranee business shall be appointed to -the Co ttee Any
vacancy in the membership of the committee shall be filled by
appointment for the remainder of the unexpired term. The chairmani,
and executive officer of the Board of Supervisors, shall name
one of the members to act as chairman of the committee* The
members of the c ommi ttee shall serve without' e ompensat ion.
Section 2* Section 3 of Ordinance No,,, 59, Revised
Ordinances of Hawaii 1947' is hereby amended to read as follows.
Se c t i on 3 Emp-to meat o f legal. . clerical and other
assistants# Subject to the applicable provisions of Chapters
2. and 3 of the Revi s e d Laws of Hawaii -1945, as amended, the
chairman and Executive Officer of the'County of Hawaii, with the
approval of the Board of Supervisors of said County, shall appoint
and remove such clerks, stenographers 'agents and other ass'istants ,
as may be necessary, for the carryingout of the purposes of this
ordinance*

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
