ORDINANCE N0. /(o ~-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 3$ OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, PROVIDING FOR LIMITED FINANCIAL AID IN CASES OF
DEATH OR INJURY SUFFERED HY JUNIOR POLICE OFFICERS IN LINE
OF DUTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 3$ of the County of Hawaii is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. Upon the contingencies hereinbelow set
forth, the parents, or the parent, guardian or custodian
of any member of the Junior Police of the County of Hawaii,
shall be entitled to financial aid in the manner specified:
(a) In the event that a member of the Junior Police
Officers of the County of Hawaii is injured while in the
performance of his duties as a Junior Police Officer directing
traffic in the County of Hawaii, the County of Hawaii shall ,~

pay for the cost of necessary medical care and hospitalization ~Fi;~

of any such member of the Junior Police Officers of the
County of Hawaii so injured, but in any case not to exceed
the sum of X1,000,00;
(b) In the event that a member of the Junior Police
Officers 'of the County of Hawaii shall die from injuries
received while in the performance of his duties as Junior
Police Officer directing traffic in the County of Hawaii,
the County of Hawaii shall pay for his funeral expenses,
but in any case not to exceed the sum of ~500.00.'~
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
approval. /
