AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 45 OF THE REPISED ORDINANCES OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII 1947, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
That Ordinance No. 45 of the Revised Ordinances of the County of
Hawaii 1947, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following
respects:
Section 1. Section 11 is hereby amended to read as Yollows:
"Section 11. Business Districts:
A. Within the Business Districts, any use is permissible
excepting light industrial, industrial, noxious in-
dustrial and agricultural uses.
The term "business uses" shall include such uses as
retail and wholesale stores, shops, bakeries, cloth-
ing and/or tailoring shops, public garages, gasoline
service stations, restaurants except in hotels or apart-
ments, amusement houses, theatres, moving gicture shows,
dance halls, undertaking parlors, automobile sales
rooms, automobile repair shops, office buildings, car-
penter and neon repair shops employing not more than
five people, machine shops or plumbing shops employing
not more than ten people, ice cream manufacturing
plants and milk depots employing not more than twenty-
five people and similar uses."
Section 2. Section 12 is hereby amended to read as follows: a

"Section 12. Light Industry Districts:
Witham the Light Industry Districts, all classes of uses
are permitted with. the exception of industrial, noxious
industrial and agricultural uses.
The term "light industry" shall include such uses as bot-
tling plants, breweries, tin smith shops, dyeing works,
contractors' yards, animal hospitals and commercial dog
kennels or the keeping of 5 or more dogs."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
