AN ORDINANCE AyElIDING ORDINANCE N0. ]k7 OF THE AND BY ADDING SECTIONS 89.01
QED, HY AyENDING SECTIONS 16, 69, AND 109,
AND 125.03, pggTAINING TO THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS
AND HI(3iWAY3 OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
BE IT ORDAINED HY THE HOARD OF SUPERVISORS IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
That Ordinance No. 11+.7 oY the County of Hawaii 1954, as amended, is hereby
further amend®d in the following respects:
Section 1. Paragraph ]Ja, Subsection (a) of Section 18 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"1J~. Within or al ong a~ safety zone created by a resolution of
the Board of ~pervieore where official signs are erected
prohibiting parking."
Section 2. Subparagraph (b) of Section 69, as amended, is hereby
amended in the following respects:
(a) By amending Subparagraph "c" of Paragraph 5 to read as follows:
"c. Kesuhou sidwof Huala ei Road to Palani Road t on the
(b) By amending Subparagraph "1" of Paragraph 6 to read as follows:
"1. Palani Road in Kona, from the Hawaii Beat Rom Pt where

(c) By adding Subparagraphs "n" and "o" to Paragraph 6 to read as

Section 3. Section 109 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 109• Unlawful riding.
(a) No person shall ride nor shall any driver of any vehicle
permit riding on any portion of a vehicle not designated
or intended for the use of passengers. This provision

shall not appljt to employees engaged in the necessary
discharge of duty or to persons riding within truck bodies
in apace intended for merchandise.
(b) No passenger shall ride nor shall any driver permit riding
upon any vehicle in such a manner ao as to allow at~q part
of his body to ertend over the front, rear, or side of
said vehicle."
Section 4• Anew section called Section 69.01 is hereby added after
Section 69 to read as follows:
"Section 69.01. Sitting, standing, or wallsing on railings of high-
way bridges or overpasses.
No person shall sit, stand, or walk, or aid or assist any other
person to sit, stand, or walk upon the railing of azSy highway bridge
or overpass in the County of Hawaii."
Section 5• Anew section called Section 125.03 is hereby added after
Section 125.02 to read as follows:
"Section 125.03• Unlawful leading of animals.
It shall be unlawful to lead or pull ax~y animal from any vehicle
upon the roadway."
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
