ORDINANCE NU. 4
AN GRDINANCE RELATING TO SUBPOENAING AND SUMMONING OF PERS~~NS
TO APPEAR BEFORE THE BORRD GF SUPERVI~RS.
BE IT ~?RDAINED BY THE BiARD ~)F SL'PERV7SJRS IN AND FOR THE
COUNTY OF HAWAIT:
SECTION 1. Power and authority sha71 be and is hereby
given, created and vested in and to the Chairman of the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, when countersigned by
the Clerk and over the Seal of- the County of Hawaii. duly affixed,
to sunsnon or to subpoena persons to appear before the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, upon. the request in writing
of and by parties interested in said. matter then pending before
the Board of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, State of
Hawaii, to the County Clerk, or to the Chairman of the ?bard of
Supervisors of the County of Hawaii, sta±i_nq that said persons
are necessary and needed for the full understanding and legal
determination of such said matters before the said Board of
Supervisors.
SECTION 2.. The person or persons so summoned shall receive
and be paid out of and. from the General Fund of the County of
Hawaii, upon claims duly certified as by ordinance provided and
regulated, the rate of 10 cents a mile, ooinq and coming, and
X1:1.00 a day during actual attendance before the Board of
Supervisors, County of Hawaii.
SECTION 3, Whosoever shall fail to appear and attend and
otherwise vio]ate anv section of this ordinance shall be fined
in a sum not exceeding ~-100.00 at the discretion of the District
Magistrate.
